Meet Our Team

Luke Wegner

Luke Wegner

Pastor

Pastor Luke was born in Wisconsin but made his adult home in beautiful Colorado.  He met Jesus at Calvary Chapel Vail Valley and gave his life to Christ in 2005 and was called into ministry that same year. Early in his walk he began exploring all that the Lord had for him by serving his local church wherever he could: service team, outreaches, worship team, young adults groups, mission trips, vacuuming, volunteering wherever he could with his church as he was being discipled.
Luke married his wife, Elisha, in 2008 at Calvary Chapel. From 2010–2011, they felt called to support a church plant in Mexico and lived there for about a year.
After returning, they rejoined CCVV, where Luke served as the Middle and High
School Youth Pastor, later as the Children’s Pastor and then became the Assistant Pastor at this thriving church. From 2011 to 2019, he faithfully served in these roles and has deeply loved it. He was ordained as a Calvary Chapel pastor in 2014.
In the spring of 2019, the Lord once again stirred Luke’s heart. He and Elisha, along with their three children—Elliett, Judah, and Sadie—felt called to plant a church, initially believing it would be in Colorado. As weeks turned into months of searching, an unexpected opportunity arose in Port Alsworth, Alaska. Luke was already familiar with the community, having taught at Tanalian Bible Camp for several summers. In the summer of 2019, the Wegner family candidated at Lake Clark Bible Church, where the door opened for Luke to become the senior pastor. They moved to the bush on August 28, 2019, and have been faithfully serving there ever since.
Luke has a passion for God’s Word, walking closely with Jesus week in and week out and “doing life” with people hoping to encourage them towards a deep and rich walk with Christ.
Luke loves his wife and kids (Elliett, Judah and Sadie), reading his Word, hunting, and almost anything having to do with adventure.
